Even a quartet can move. The Simply Quartet was founded in Shanghai in 2008 and four years later decided to move to Vienna for further training. The Three Nations Quartet – first violinist and violist are from China, the second violinist from Austria, the cellist from Norway – plays the first of the three Schumann quartets. When Schumann composed it, he was a newcomer to the genre. His wife Clara commented on his first attempts with the question of whether Robert understood enough about string instruments to take on this task. Before he ventured into his quartet attempts, he studied Haydn's string quartets intensively, from which the Simply Quartet also selected the "Complimentary Quartet".
